I had a hard time figuring out what the dog needed each day. The instructions mentioned this and that, but it wasn’t really clear what I was supposed to do daily.

I’ve been using BorrowMyDoggy for a few months now and, to be fair, it’s been a positive experience. I really like that you can meet up first and make sure everyone feels comfortable, especially the dog, before committing to anything regular. The owners I’ve spoken to all seemed to really care about their dogs and asked sensible questions, which felt reassuring. I do think the site could maybe add a few more checks for peace of mind on both sides, as that would only make it feel fairer and safer for everyone involved. Overall though, it’s a lovely idea and a nice way for dogs to get extra walks, attention, and company.

It was kind of frustrating. A lot of the profiles felt empty or like they hadn’t been updated in ages, so I never really knew who was actually active. It made the whole experience feel a bit lonely and confusing.

I signed up because I wanted to get a real feel for what life with a dog might be like before actually committing to one. I did meet a couple of nice owners, and I enjoyed the walks I managed to arrange, but it felt more like the occasional random dog walk than a proper taste of dog ownership. A lot of the messaging was slow too, so it was harder to set things up than I expected. I can imagine it working better if you’re in a busier area with more people using it, but for me it just didn’t feel worth the fee.

I really like the concept of borrowmydoggy, and I was hoping it would be a simple way to meet some local dogs and their owners. But the membership price felt a little steep for what I actually got out of it. I messaged a few owners and barely heard back, so it made me feel like I was paying without much guarantee anything would come of it. Maybe it works better if you’re in a busier area with more active users, but for me it didn’t feel worth the risk of renewing

I had to keep chasing them for replies, which was a bit annoying. Then when we finally met up, the whole thing felt rushed. Not the best first impression, honestly

Setting up my profile was easy. Just went step by step and most of it made sense right away. There was one part about the checks that I had to read twice, kind of paused there for a second. But after that, it was fine. Clear enough. Didn’t take long either.

I’ve met a few genuinely nice dog owners near me and have been borrowing the sweetest spaniel on weekends. It’s been such a lovely experiance and the whole thing feels friendly and easy to use...

Uh, it was a bit hit or miss for me. Some parts were good, but others didn’t quite live up to what I was expecting

I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting much, but BorrowMyDoggy was actually simple to use, even on my phone. I found what I needed quickly, and signing up didn’t end up being confusing like I thought it might. Nice and easy, really.

I tried using the messaging and it felt kind of broken. I sent a message and waited, but nobody ever got back to me, so I wasn’t really sure what I was supposed to do next or if anyone even saw it..

I had a hard time finding times that actually worked for me. Uh, most owners seemed to want set time slots, which made it frustrating after a while.

I paid for it hoping to find a decent number of dogs nearby, but there were barely any in my area. I guess it still works if you’re in a busier place, so I can’t totally write it off, but for me it was disappointing

I had the same borrower twice and things seemed like they were going fine, but then the plans just kind of stopped. From the tone, I’m guessing they weren’t really interested in keeping it going, but there wasn’t an easy way to follow up or keep the arrangement moving

They turned up as expected, just a little late one time, but it wasn’t a big deal. I think I was already pottering around waiting anyway, so it didn’t really throw anything off. Overall, it was fine

The site itself was fine and I didn’t have any major issues using it, but the subscription side caught me off guard. I ended up getting charged again, the cancellation process wasn’t as clear as it should have been. I don’t mind paying for something if it’s upfront and easy to manage, but this felt a bit unfair. It would be much better if the renewal and cancellation details were made more obvious.

I wasn’t totally sure BorrowMyDoggy would be for me at first, and I felt a bit awkward signing up, but I’ve been using it for a few months now and it’s been really nice. It’s got me out of the house more and I’ve ended up chatting to people I probably wouldn’t have met otherwise. I found a lovely owner nearby and their dog is such good company. The site can be a little slow now and then, which is a bit annoying, but overall I’m really glad I gave it a try

I thought the swap was going to be free, but that wasn’t really the case. Some owners still expect you to pay, which was bit frustrating. Just something to know before you go in thinking it’s simple free exchange.

I had to reach out to customer support about an issue with my account. They did eventually get back to me, and the response was helpful enough, but the waiting was frustrating. I felt like I had to keep checking in instead of just getting a clear update. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but I definitely think they could be faster and communicate a bit better.

I felt safe using BorrowMyDoggy, especially knowing there’s insurance included if anything went wrong. I did have to dig through a few emails and read around a bit to properly understand what was actually covered, but once I had a clearer idea, it definitely made me feel more relaxed about using it...
